You Do You

Today I thought I’d share one of the many things I love about coaching. And that is witnessing my clients tap into their inner resources in order to approach their creative projects in a way that actually honors their creativity.

The Struggle

Instead of… trying to fit themselves inside of a set of external norms and prescriptive modes of operation for how to move forward that ultimately doesn’t serve them. That could look like a myriad of things from assuming that there has to be a certain order of events, to telling themselves that they don’t know enough yet, or thinking that a seed of a creative idea needs to be developed into a fully packaged whatever before they even begin to reach out to potential collaborators or get feedback. Enter stagnation, overwhelm, and procrastination, a lot of busy work, and an artistic soul crushed. Ooof, we’ve all been there right? I know I have and still struggle with this!

The Release

For my clients, those moments of self-discovery, where they recognize that there is a perfection-oriented norm that they can let go of, is like a huge exhale. They are able to see a reality where their desires and strengths and unique experiences are valid and can drive their ideas forward in a way that is true and authentic to them. Something that felt daunting suddenly feels alive and possible.

So I bring that inspiration to you. If there’s a creative project, or an idea that feels challenging to get momentum on, what’s holding you back? And is it something to do with perception of how things should go? How might you tap into your own creativity to break with that norm and try something different that feels more true to you?

If this resonates with you or someone you know, please share! And connect with me for a free exploration session :)

To breaking norms and giving space,

Tara
