Presence Practice

“Fear of radical changes leads many citizens of our nation to betray their minds and hearts. Yet we are all subjected to radical changes every day. We face them by moving through fear.”

-bell hooks

Hello Dear Hearts,

I remember reading this years ago in bell hooks’s All About Love and writing in the margins, this is why I want to be a Coach! I enrolled in my training program soon after. I want to help move people through fear, and slow down long enough to listen to their heart and their truth. A truly radical act in our culture of hustle and override.

We are moving through a lot of fear and anxiety right now. Variants, holiday family dynamics, jobs, health, you name it. And yet, we are here. Alive and on this planet at this very significant time of radical change, upheaval and new culture building. What a gift.

I’m reminded/inspired by this month’s Knowing in the Bones guest, visual artist and painter Lauren Mantecón, that cultivating intuition is a practice of presence and of being in the here and now, moment to moment. From here, we can find space to hold complexity and nuance, and remember to move and breathe. We can learn to trust our bodies and acknowledge waves of feelings as they come and go and mix all together. We can find places to expand, see things from other points of view, question our limiting beliefs, accept what is while also accessing our creativity and  possibilities for enacting the change we want to see. And maybe we can make some cool art while we are at it :)

For the Solstice this month and coming into the new year, I chose to set the intention of letting go of old narratives, and to take hold of re-parenting myself.

What do you want to let go of and take hold of?

Sending you lots of love and wishes for rest and nourishment this season in whatever way feels right to you,

Many Blessings,

Tara

SEASON 1 FINALE OF KNOWING IN THE BONES!

“Our culture gives subliminal and blatant messages that tells us how to think… And oftentimes when culture does that, we don't know how to listen to our own selves anymore…I did that for a very long time of not realizing the empathic and the deep, intuitive nature that was mine, that I was unable to own and harness as a power.”

-Lauren Mantecón

Does this spark up something for you that you’d like to talk about?
